Bertrand Grospellier Biography

Bertrand Grospellier, alias Elky, has been famous on the internet for a long time now. First it was for his performances in a famous strategic video game called Starcraft. In 2001 he finished 2nd in the World Cyber Games. Then he moved to South Korea to be a professional gamer and play among the very best. Video Games are very popular in Korea and he rapidly became very famous.

After a few years he decided to quit Starcraft to invest for Poker, because he realized that it would be more profitable. He said that the beginning was difficult. He lost a lot of money but such is the cost of learning. Bertrand Grospellier began playing cash games with blinds of $1/$2 which is much higher than what most players begin with.

After this learning period Elky was ready to reach the top level. He became the first player to achieve the status “Supernova” in 13 days and “Supernova Elite” in 4 months. This is the highest rank on PokerStars. Only 30 players have achieved this status after 1 year. In 2004 Bertrand Grospellier began to represent PokerStars and he integrated into the Team PokerStars Pro in 2007.

Elky really only began to play live in 2006, and he has already managed to earn $5,8 Million. He is ranked 35th player in the world and ranked first among French players. It is obvious that Elky has huge potential, even if he were not successful in the WSOP. He already has two EPT titles and one WPT title.

Anecdote

He is very famous for his ability to play a lot of tables at the same time and to take very quick decisions. He usually plays about 10 to 14 tables. But this was not enough for Elky.
